彦根市は２５日、市内の一部の路上での喫煙を制限する条例案を９月１日開会の市議会に提案する、と発表した。罰則規定はないが、市職員が該当地区を巡回し、違反者に注意するという。市長が必要と認める地区を路上喫煙禁止地区とし、違反者には是正に必要な指導ができる、としている。市は禁止地区として、ＪＲ彦根駅から彦根城に続く駅前お城通りのほか、彦根城跡内とその接する道路、夢京橋キャッスルロード、四番町スクエアの４か所を挙げている。続きを読む読売8月26日

人材派遣のパソナグループは2008年8月13日、20代を中心とした若者を対象にした「たばこ増税」と「喫煙」についての意識調査結果を発表した。それによると、たばこが1箱1000円になっても吸い続けるか尋ねたところ、40.3％が「すぐに禁煙する」と答え、30.6％が「本数を減らし、いずれ禁煙する」と答えた。合計で70.9％の人が1箱1000円になったら禁煙しようと考えていることが分かった。続きを読むJCAST８月１５日
